Before you write
If you are reporting a bug, including the following helps us help you:
- Your iPhone model and the iOS version you are on (Settings → General → About).
- The version of Tuiscint (visible through the app store).
- What you were doing when the issue happened, and what you saw versus what you expected.
- Screenshots or even a screen recording.
You can include all of this in an email to support@tuiscint.app. Since your privacy comes first, don't feel compelled to share more than you want or need to!
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your iPhone, in the app's private sandbox. It is included in your iCloud or computer backup if you have those configured, but it is never sent to a server we operate. We have no way of receiving any data from your app or usage patterns.
How do I move Tuiscint to a new iPhone?
Restore your new iPhone from your iCloud backup or from a computer backup as part of the normal setup flow. Your Tuiscint entries will arrive with everything else. If you set up the new device "as new," your entries will not transfer because we do not hold a server copy. In that case, export your data from your old device first.
How do I export my entries?
Open Settings (long press the Tuiscint logo on a main page), scroll down, and choose Export. It will produce an unencrypted CSV you can save to local or cloud storage. You can also share it through the standard iOS share sheet. The import functions in the same manner.
Can I delete all my data?
Absolutely! You cna delete the Tuiscint app from your home screen. You can also return to settings with a long press on the Tuiscint logo and scroll down to data management. There is an option to delete all entries there. This action is permanent and deletes ALL of your data from the Tuiscint app. You can always export it first.
Why do the on-device insights not show up?
The pattern-analysis layer uses your phone's built-in intelligence features, which require iPhone 15 Pro or newer. On earlier iPhones, Tuiscint still works as a private journal with the chart view, but the AI observation card stays silent. If you are interested in manually calculated metrics, write to Support!
Where's my dopamine?
There are no billionaires behind this app trying to get you to spend every waking moment on it. No gamification options means you have to make dopamine the old-fashioned way, with 1 part simple syrup, 2 parts oaked deliciousness, and a few drops of bitters.
Can I use Tuiscint on iPad or Mac?
Maybe? The developer can definitely be more intentional about it, though. Write to support with your suggestion! We'd love to hear from you.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. The on-device intelligence layer is built specifically against Apple's frameworks. Releasing an Android version would require a physical test device. This is a planned feature, but write Support with your thoughts!
What does Tuiscint mean?
It is an Irish Gaelic word for subtle perception: the kind of understanding that does not arrive all at once, but accumulates quietly until you can see yourself clearly. It is pronounced Tish-kint.
I want to give feedback about the product, not report a bug.
Please do. Write to support@tuiscint.app with whatever you are noticing. Feature requests, copy critiques, "this section feels wrong". "Where has this been for the last 16 years??" All of it is welcome. The developer reads every message.
The app is free, nothing is tracked... what's the catch??
I get your distrust, but I thought of this 16 years ago, never built it, and haven't stopped thinking about it. I created this not for the revenue, but because I just needed to. I want it for myself. I'm happy if someone else gets use out of it, too. Our privacy is too valuable to compromise. Thought I may charge a few bucks for it later, who knows.
System status
Tuiscint has no SDK or API, so there is no service to be down. The app runs locally on your phone. Keep it charged, and you should be good. 😉
